Obituary of Aren Craft
Please share a memory of Aren to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Aren Charles Craft was born on January 2, 2000 in Norwalk Hospital, Our new millennium baby! If you ever met him, you were immediately drawn to his bright smile, outgoing personality, and amazing spirit. And you couldn’t help but marvel at his latest hairstyle, whether it was a ponytail, braids, afro, fade, or as he got older, the color of the month. Aren always marched to the beat of his own drum, that he insisted he play himself. From the time he was able to talk, having a conversation with him was like speaking with a miniature adult. Aren went to New Canaan Country School (NCCS) until eighth grade because he was so popular, he sometimes spent more weekends at friends' houses than at home. But despite this, his empathetic soul also led him to spend time with even the shyest of kids. They loved Aren, and their parents adored him. He exceled on both the NCCS baseball and basketball teams, as well as the Norwalk Biddy Basketball and Cranbury Baseball Leagues. Next, Aren went to Pomfret, a boarding school in upstate Connecticut where he was vice president of his graduating class. In 2014, he and his brother Jaylen helped their dad write a book called “The Offenders: Saving the World While Serving Detention!” and were some of the first authors to sign at An Unlikely Story, a bookstore owned by Jeff Kinney (“Diary of a Wimpy Kid”). Even as a kid he unphased by doing live TV interviews. In fact, nothing seemed to phase him. Aren is a graduate of Bentley University where he received his undergraduate degree in Marketing with a minor in psychology. Aren was a Descendant of Lieutenant Rueben House, a Patriot in the American Revolution (SC) and member of the CAR - Captain Stephen Betts & Captain David Hawley Societies. And was Society President of Captain Stephen Hawley 2017-2018. Aren was an amazing son to Autier & Jerry Craft, a loving little brother to Jaylen, a precious grandson to Charles & Pauline Craft, and Geneva McBeth & Thomas Allen, and a caring soul to the family beagles Snoopy and Dexter. He loved music, working out, nature, cooking, eating. write. And he especially loved to laugh. Aren was also an avid reader. He loved fashion. He loved to travel. He was a huge Marvel fan. And he loved both Xbox and PlayStation. But he really loved rooting for his beloved Knicks, Giants, and Yankees. He will be missed by all who knew him.
