Albert Fakundiny, a longtime resident of Norwalk, went to his eternal home on Monday, November 20, 2023. He was 94.
Born in Pezinok, Slovakia on December 4, 1928, he was the son of the late Albert and Elisabeth Fakundiny. He came to the United States in 1953 with his wife and children and settled in Norwalk in 1964.
He was a longtime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. He and his wife Lore, sang for many years with the Germania Maenner und Dammenchor of Port Chester, and later with The Norwalk Quartette Club.
He was pre-deceased by his wife of 61 years, Lore, and his son Hans. He is survived by his daughters Hannelore (Frank) Billowitz, and Linda Fakundiny-Lee, 4 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. His brother, Willy and wife Margrit, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also, his beloved dog, Mali.
Albert’s family will receive friends on Friday November 24th, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 208 Newtown Ave, Norwalk, CT
His funeral service will follow at the conclusion of calling hours and 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gem Gabriel officiating.
He will be laid to rest following his service at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Ave, Norwalk, CT. The Raymond Funeral Home in Historic Norwalk has been entrusted with arrangements. Please visit; Raymond.Care to leave an online condolence for the family.
