Jose Enrique Lopez-Bonilla, 79, husband of Ramona Velez Cancel of Norwalk passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023, surrounded with the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance, courage, and strength.

Born in Puerto Rico on March 15, 1944, he was the son of the late Juan Manuel Lopez and Angelina Bonilla. Growing up Jose showed his passion for singing the Puerto Rican traditional music. He also enjoyed spending the weekends at the “gallera” watching cockfighting.

In addition to his wife of 54 years, Jose is survived by his children Lissette Cardona and her husband Howard Cardona, Jeanette Lopez and her fiancé Ramon Vazquez Quiles, and Jose Lopez-Velez as well as his 5 grandchildren: Carlos, Chelsey, Giovanni, Adamary and Isabella whom referred to him as “Tutal”. Jose is also survived by siblings, many nieces, nephews, and family friends.
