Mildred J. McDermott, belove wife of the late John “Red” McDermott, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2023, at the age of 90. She was born in Waterbury on December 22, 1932, to the late Carl and Mildred (Light) Peterson.

She was a long-time member of American Legion Women’s Auxiliary post 12 and was also a past president of the Portchester/Rye Ambulance Corps.

Mildred is survived by three of her children; Kristi (George) Llera, Michael (Leslee) Beadle and Billy (Casey) Beadle. She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 20 great grand children and many nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as her sister Carol Peterson. In addition to her husband, Mildred was predeceased by three of her children, Bobby, Kathi, and Tammy.

A Visitation will be held on Friday August 4, 2023, from 5-8 pm at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave. Norwalk CT. A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 5, 2023, 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by a burial at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Ave. Norwalk.
