Edward Mikel age 90, enetered into eternal rest on Monday, June 19, 2023 peacefully at his home.

Edward Mikel was born October 8th, 1932 in Bloomingdale, Georgia to the late Ozzie Mikel and Irene Robinson. Edward attended school in Savannah, Georgia and later relocated to Norwalk, Connecticut in the early 50s.

He was employed at Norwalk Community Technical College for 10 years until his retirement. Edward loved fishing, playing golf, and spending time at 507 where he and his friends shot pool and played cards. If not there, you would find him listening to Barry White and dancing in his kitchen with whoever would join him.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 67 years, Alberta Mikel of Norwalk, Connecticut; two sons, Edward Mikel of Forest Park, Georgia, and Troy A. Mikel (Rochelle) of Ellenwood, Georgia; four daughters, Linda W. Paulin, Vicki M. Mikel (Tommy), Denise Mikel of Norwalk, Connecticut and Allison P. Mikel of Bridgeport, Connecticut; one sister, Eddie Mae Carroll of Highland, California; two sisters-in-law, Lue E. Hodges of Durham, North Carolina, and Mary Jones of Bridgeport, Connecticut. In addition he leaves twelve grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in death by his son, Larry L. Williams; two brothers, Ozzie Mikel and Joseph Mikel; three sisters, Willie Pearl Shipman, Corine V. Wright, and Owetta Faulkner.

A celebration of Mr. Mikel's life and legacy will be held Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 96 South Main Street, Norwalk, CT. Family will receive guest from 10:00 AM until time of service at the Church. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
