Anthony, "Tony" as his friends knew him, was an animal lover who volunteered with dog fostering and adopted five dogs himself, whom he treated as his family. He enjoyed going for nature walks at Pound Ridge, NY. He was an excellent photographer and was particularly proud of pictures of harbor seals he had photographed and had published. Tony was always willing to pitch in to help others. He was better at helping others than himself. He had a quirky sense of humor. Memory: Once I absent-mindedly poured a lot of salt instead of sugar in my coffee in front of him and then drank it. Oh, my face! He laughed so hard! The next time we got together, he handed me a cannister of sugar he had hand labeled, "For Carolyn, NOT the Salt" We had a good laugh over it as we did many things, over many, many years. It was a good example of his humor and our close and good-natured friendship. One of the last times I saw him Tony said I was "the best friend he ever had." He was not one to verbalize his feelings, his actions said how he felt. That moved me.. I knew it already.. It was mutual, my friend. Nothing and nobody else can change that truth between us. I miss you, Tony. Nobody who knew us would be surprised that is true. You deserved better than you got. I won't ever forget you. ❤ Carolyn
