Obituary of Bob Roberts

Please share a memory of Bob to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Monday, March 13th, Robert (Bob) Roberts of East Norwalk passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Bob was the owner of Ed’s Corner Service in East Norwalk for over 40 years. He loved his shop and truly cherished all of his customers. He planted colorful flowers every spring on the corner of First and Cove and passionately maintained them. Some of the neighborhood kids even knew him as “Uncle Bobby” and he spent many afternoons fixing a bicycle tire or helping any one of the business and homeowners in the area. An avid walker, Bob could be seen taking daily walks around East Norwalk, his neon shirts and jackets his signature style. His other hobbies included riding his bike, fishing and boating. One of Bob’s favorite things to do was dining out and he frequented many of the local restaurants in the Norwalk area. He especially enjoyed spending time with his fiancée’s granddaughter, Journey. He is survived by his fiancée, Linda Mineo of Norwalk, CT, his siblings, Barbara Roberts Wilcox of Norwalk, CT, John and Marianne Roberts of Seven Lakes, NC and Steven Roberts of Bridgeport. Calling hours will be held of Sunday, March 19, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM with a prayer service at 5:30 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 20, at 11:00 AM at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Avenue, Norwalk. The funeral procession will begin at Collins Funeral Home at 10:30 AM.
