Obituary of Roger Bruce Williams

Please share a memory of Roger to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Roger Bruce Williams passed away peacefully on the morning of January 26, 2023, after a courageous battle with a long-term illness. On April 21, 1936, in Norwalk, CT, he was born to the late J. Allen Williams, a local electrician, and Barbara Williams, an artist and painter. An engineer by trade, Roger was an avid learner who liked to keep busy in his spare time. Folks could always find him in the garage working on various projects. He was always working on something: computers, cars, photography, woodworking, and a later life passion for guitar, were just a few of his interests. He also enjoyed the outdoors, having spent over a dozen years involved in the BSA as a scout leader. His most cherished moments with his family, however, were the simplest ones, from doing jigsaw puzzles at the kitchen table to heading out for chili dogs. His friends will also remember him as someone they could count on whenever they had a project that needed just the right touch, trusting that Roger would do the best job above all others. Besides his wife Elaine Eleck Williams, Roger is survived by his two children, daughter Eileen Beth Williams of Norwalk, and son Bruce Allen Williams of Manchester. He will also be fondly remembered by a host of family and friends. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 2, at 11am at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Ave, Norwalk, CT 06850. In lieu of flowers, donations to Roger’s memory may be made to Constellation Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
