Jimmy Chandler Sr., 66, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2023, surrounded by his wife and two children after a hard-fought battle with lung disease. Born in Algiers, Africa, Jimmy was a lifelong Norwalk resident where he enjoyed raising his family. Jimmy is predeceased by his parents, Richard Chandler and Thi-Van Chandler. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elaine, and his two children whom he loved dearly, Jimmy Jr. and Nicole; by his brother Richard and sister Lea; his many nieces, nephews; great nieces and great nephews; and especially his beloved dog, Kona. He also had an especially strong bond with his brother-in-law, Walter Kruhlinski. Family meant everything to him. Jimmy worked in security sales for most of his life and he was passionate about his life’s work, which brought him such joy each and every day. He was a proud owner of Chandler Security Systems alongside his brother Richard. A true people-person and caring friend, he spent much time at the Pastime Athletic Club, which he proudly served as President. He loved spending time with family and enjoyed binge-watching good TV shows, playing poker, motorcycling, snowmobiling, and fishing with his friends. He also loved nothing more than a good meal, he was the original “foodie” and knew every good spot to eat in town. He made many special lifelong friendships over the years through his work, hobbies and at his club. Services will be held at Raymond Funeral Home on Sunday, January 22 from 2-6 pm. The funeral follows on Monday, January 23 at 11 am. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery at 11:45 am. Please visit www.norwalkfh.com to leave an online condolence for the family.
