Idalia Nunez Obituary

Idalia Nunez, 87, of Norwalk, entered eternal life on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Norwalk Hospital. Born December 14th 1935 in Nicaragua, the daughter of Miguel and Maria Almanza Nunez, she emigrated to the U.S. and became a citizen in 1960 and enjoyed a challenging and successful career in nursing, as a critical care supervisor at Norwalk Hospital. A woman of strong faith, she was a Pastor, devoted to Jesus and active with her church. She enjoyed sharing her faith and spending time with her family and friends.


She is survived by her sister Maria Lydia Nunez of San Francisco, cousin Rosa Almanza, nephew Jenner Almanza and spouse Colleen McEnerney of Naugatuck, along with many cousins, nephews, nieces, godchildren, and special friends. The family extends special thanks to caregivers Shirley Blake and Linda Thompson.


Her family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 20 from 10-11AM, with a prayer service to begin at 11AM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.
