Obituary of Carol Ann Pepe

Carol Ann Pepe, Wife of Vincent Pepe for 52 years, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of the late Donald and Viola Forbes, Carol was born in Norwalk, December 12, 1945. She was a graduate of Brien McMahon High School in 1963. Carol was employed by Bigelow Tea Company, Litton Industries. Union Trust and retired from the Danbury Mint in 2007.
Carol grew up serving in the Salvation Army, where she played trumpet. Later, she attended the First United Methodist Church in South Norwalk, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She also attended East Avenue Methodist and Cornerstone Community, and was a member of the Cannon Grange in Wilton. Carol loved to read, watch movies and listen to and perform music. She was a huge fan of the Wizard of Oz. She enjoyed travelling, as long as it wasn’t on an airplane. One of her favorite destinations was Disney World where she enjoyed several trips with family. She had special memories of annual camping trips and her vacation to South Dakota with her husband.
Predeceased by her brother Donald “Butch” Forbes, Carol is survived by her husband Vincent, brother Robert Forbes, and many loving nieces and nephews that were special to her. In time of loving care, nephew Robert and wife Patty and nephew Kevin and wife Virginia, were there for her.
In 1990, Carol was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She battled cancer for 32 years. Our thanks to the loving doctors, nurses and caregivers for their loving care throughout her illness.
Her family will receive friends on Sunday, Nov. 20 from 2-4 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, at 10:30 AM at Cornerstone Community Church, 718 West Ave, Norwalk, with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cornerstone Community Church, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital
