Obituary of Samuel Rumble
Please share a memory of Samuel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Samuel "Sam" Rumble, age 89, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2022, following a period of declining health.
Samuel was born in Blackwoods (Beckford Kraal), Clarendon, Jamaica, West Indies to the late Eustace and Eugena Rumble.
In 1962, Samuel met and married the love of his life, Lois Rumble, and from this union two children were born.
In 1971, Samuel migrated to the United States of American to provide a better life for his family. He was employed by Norwalk Hospital for forty-three years before retiring.
Samuel, affectionately known as "Pop Rumble", was a devoted member of Macedonia Church for over thirty years. He was loved and regarded as a grandfather by the young people. Samuel became a man of prayer in his older age and the change in his life was evident in how he approached and responded to situations. His passion and desire, impeded by his medical condition, was to serve alongside his pastors in whatever capacity available.
Samuel possessed a great sense of humor; he was strong, hardworking, loving, and gentle. He loved his family and was deeply devoted to them. Samuel had a love for playing dominoes, gardening, dressing, dancing, and cooking. He enjoyed catering to his wife, often serving her breakfast in bed. He spent his past time watching the "Judge Judy Show" referring to her as "his girl". He was also an avid New York Yankee fan.
Samuel leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of sixty years, Lois; children, Assistant Pastor Michael Rumble and his wife, Reverend Dr. Merle Rumble and Elder Bernadette Stainrod and her husband, Elder Leroy Stainrod; grandson, Timothy Stainrod; special son, Pastor DeWitt Stevens, Jr.; special friends, Cyprian Williams and Gerard Watt; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Samuel has fought a good fight and has finished his course. He will forever remain in our hearts.
