Sandra Lucille Owens, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 31st at 4:27 pm. She was born in Tampa, Florida on December 25, 1953 to the late Jamie and Mary Owens. As a young child Sandra moved to Norwalk, CT where she would spend the majority of her life. She was schooled in the Norwalk Public system and graduated from Norwalk High School. She would later attend various culinary schools. She worked various jobs throughout her life including working for Nivea and The Beiersdorf Company. She worked in retail and for a short time in transportation. The last 15 years of her life she was a resident of West Haven and New Haven, Connecticut. Sandra had a profound love for reading. She always had a book in hand and read several books a week. You could often find her in a bookstore. She enjoyed mysteries on tv and in movies. Sandra loved to cook and had a knack for baking. She was always in the kitchen making a cake or a pie. She also loved to babysit and take care of children. Sandra was predeceased by her father Jamie Owens, her mother Mary Owens, her sister Shirley Gay and her son Derrick Owens. Sandra leaves to cherish her memory her sister Margaret Bryant of Rochester, NY, her brother Freddie Harrell of Rochester, NY, her sister Joyce Smith (George) of Raleigh, NC and her sister Pamela Newman of Norwalk, CT. Grand children: Asia Gilbert, Dante Goodwin as well as great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Empowerment Church Of Love, 1 Quincy Street, Norwalk, CT 06850.
