Obituary of George Alan Miller

Mr. George Alan Miller, affectionately known as “Bo” was born on May 24, 1955, in Stamford, Connecticut, to the late George Louis Miller and Bernice Simmons Miller. The Lord called George home to be with Him on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Bridgeport, CT, after a brief period of illness.
Growing up, George was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Norwalk, CT, where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized. He attended Sunday School,youth ministry and served on the usher board and church basketball team.
George graduated from Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, CT; where he was a member of the wresting, baseball, and basketball teams. He studied at Norwalk Community College.
In 1976, George united in marriage with the love of his life, Judith Monroe. They celebrated 46 years of marriage on April 10, 2022. They had two sons, Christian Alan Miller and Adrian Joseph Miller.
George was employed as a manager by Pathmark, Bradlees, and Beiersdorf, Inc. George retired as a supervisor at Shelter Logic, Inc. in Watertown, CT. During his retirement, he worked as a crossing guard at Franklin Elementary School in Stratford, CT.
He enjoyed fishing, football, and baseball. His favorite teams were the NY Giants and the Atlanta Braves. George was an easy-going person who loved life and enjoyed making friends with whomever he met.
George’s family was everything to him and he would beam with pride when he talked about his sons and his granddaughters Mackenzie and Madison. He was looking with anticipation and excitement of the arrival of his first grandson.
George leaves to cherish fond memories: His wife Judith, of Stratford, CT; Sons: Christian (Allyson) of Seymour, CT and Adrian (Tarra) of Waterbury, CT; two Granddaughters: Mackenzie Miller and Madison Miller of Seymour, CT; Mother-in-law Margaret Monroe of Norwalk, CT; three Brothers: Kevin (Delia) Miller of Surprise, AZ, David Miller of New Haven, CT, and Michael (Cheryl) Miller of Orangeburg, SC; two Sisters: Rometa Miller of Stratford, CT, and Rev. Cassandra Fuller of Orangeburg, SC; three brothers-in-law: George (Caron) Monroe of Seymour Gerald Monroe of Norwalk, CT and Glen Roberts of Sanford, NC; one Sister-in law – Jacqueline Monroe of Stratford, CT, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
George is predeceased by his parents George and Bernice Miller; Father-in-Law George Monroe, and two sisters: Patricia Roberts, and Davida Miller.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday June 2, 2022 at 11a.m at Union Baptist Church, 805 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT. Family and friends may view at the church at 10a.m until time of service. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk, CT.
