Sokratis Togridis, 76, husband of Magdalini Mourouzidou Togridis, passed away May 24, 2022 at his home in Norwalk.

Born November 10, 1945 in Greece, he was the son of the late Damianos and Anastasia Maglousidis Togridis.

Sokratis worked in construction in Greece and then he and his wife Magdalini emigrated to the U.S. in 1983 with their two sons Damianos and Georgios. He worked for General Motors for the first few years in the U.S. Then he bought a cobbler shop in 1986 which he operated for about 4 decades before turning the business over to his sons.

He was a long time member of the Greek community in Norwalk and a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. He was also a member of the Pontian Society "PONTOS" where he served as President for one term with multiple terms on the board. He enjoyed spending summers in Greece and tending to his garden and flowers.

In addition to his wife Magdalini and sons Damianos and Georgios, Sokratis is survived by his daughters Sofia and Georgia, sister Stavroula and by four grandchildren: Sokratis (Damian's) Sokratis, Kyriaki and Alexandros (George's).

A viewing will be held on Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 238 West Rocks Road, Norwalk, CT. Services will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church on Friday at 10 :00 AM followed by interment in Riverside Cemetery.
