Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sharon A. Reed of Northford died Thursday January 20, 2022 at Middlesex Hospital. She was the beloved wife of John C. Reed. Sharon was born August 19, 1947 in Norwalk, daughter of the late Burton and Anne Scofield. Besides John, Sharon is survived by her children, David M. Reed of Killingworth and Julie (David) Russo of Middlefield; her grandchildren, Gillian and Samuel; and her brothers Burton "Corky" Scofield (Diane) of Norwalk and Harry Scofield of Waterbury; her nieces, Leslie Harris (Carl) and Kim Scofield Libertino (Patsy). She was predeceased by her sister Debbie Pellegrino. For many years Sharon was a member of the Silver Falcons Drum and Bugle Corps of Stamford. As a member of the Falcons Color Guard, Sharon won many awards and championships and Falcons Color Guard was considered one of the best in New England. More recently she was a member of the Park City Pride Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps of Bridgeport. Sharon was also an instructor for the Hotshots/Firebirds Color Guard. Sharon enjoyed trips to the ranch, camping, UConn Basketball, dance competitions, playing the slot machines, nature, pets, and of course her Dunkin Donuts coffee. One of Sharon's most recent passions was her time as a receptionist at her daughter's business, Westbrook Dance Academy (WDA). At WDA Sharon greeted the dancers, their parents, and helped any way she could. Sharon also loved to help clean and perfect the dances – the dancers loved "cleaning with Miss Sharon," and would frequently request her. Sharon will be missed by many. Visiting hours are Thursday January 27th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. Masks will be required. A graveside service will be held Friday morning at 11:00 in Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk. For directions and online memorial see www.wsclancy.com.
