Ruth Ann Ragin Greene passed away on January 6, 2022 in Norwalk, CT. She was born September 3rd in St. Paul, SC to the late Annie Mae and Daniel Ragin. Ruth Ann received her early education in the Norwalk Public School system. She attended Norwalk Community college where became a licensed Certified Nurses Aid (CNA).
Ruth Ann loved and lived life to the fullest. She had adventurous life but was a humble and spiritual person who loved listening to music especially Teena Marie and “big” Luther Vandross. She had a flare for fashion and loved to dress to impress. She could walk miles in her high heels saying that flat shoes hurt her feet. Ruth Ann had beautiful heart, was very generous with a great personality and wicked sense of humor. She loved to have fun, to smile and make others smile. Ruth volunteered her time with M.O.T.I.O.N Drill team for many years. She was a mentor and “auntie” to many of the young ladies but her greatest joy was being a doting grandmother. She had a deep, unselfish love for her family, and, to her friends and will be greatly missed.
Ruth Ann was the mother to Antonio “Tony” Ragin of Waterbury, CT. She leaves behind a sister, Celeste Ragin and a brother, Daniel Ragin. She was predeceased by one sister, Glorise Shirley Ragin, She grand-daughters Shaquana Ragin, Jacksonville, Florida and Tonia Ragin of Bridgeport, CT, her grandson, Tre Ragin of Ansonia, CT. Nephews Roshene Ragin and Evander Boyd. Nieces Taka and Tareta Ragin, Tyneka Dyshea and Tumeeka McCloud, and Sarah Ragin Boyd. grand-nephews Taurean, Rasha and Michael, Jr., grandnieces Chy’nna, Ch’Kara, C’Mora, C’Mara, Tiana, Synfeni, Jasmine, Michaela and LunaMae.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 10:30 AM, Canaan Institutional Baptist Church, 31 Concord Street, Norwalk, CT.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
