On Monday, December 13th, 2021, Lidia Antunes Correia Machado, loving Grandmother to many, passed away at the age of 89.

Lidia was born on December 13th, 1932 in Castanheira de Pera, Portugal. She left for Lisbon at the age of 13 to work and begin a new life. This is where she met her late husband, David das Neves Machado. They moved to Damaia, Portugal and raised to daughters, the late Maria Isabel Correia Machado Ribeiro and the late Dina Maria Correia Machado Soares.

Lidia was a devoted housewife and stay at home mom. In her later years she had a passion for Portuguese Politics and her favorite soccer team, Benfica. She loved listening to music on the radio, especially Fado. She was a devout Catholic and lead her life very religiously. She was known as everyone’s Grandmother who loved chatting and making little jokes.

Lidia was preceded in death by her husband, David, and her two daughters, Isabel and Dina along with her parents a several siblings. She is survived by her grandchildren, Nuno (Antonio), Alexandre and Elizabeth (Filipe) and great grandchildren Catarina, Andre, David, Tomas, Mateo and Luca. As well as several nieces and nephews.
