Obituary of Vinny Grant

Vincent "Vinny" Grant blessed this world on January 14, 1961 and returned to his everlasting home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 1, 2021. He was born to Washington Alexander and Bernice Grant (deceased) of Norwalk, Connecticut. Vinny, as he was affectionately known. Vinny was a graduate of Norwalk High School and Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina. His passion for entrepreneurship led him to many business ventures, including owning Hair Tech Barber and Beauty Shop in the heart of South Norwalk where he joyfully serviced the community, in addition to being an accomplished author. Vincent enjoyed contributing to various museums and teaching African American History while fostering his passion for supporting the less fortunate by donating his time, services, and resources to the local churches, helping the elderly and being a role model to the youth. Vincent is survived by his children, Omni Carissa Roberts (Atlanta, Georgia), Cody Roberts (Okinawa, Japan) and Shawn Roberts (Sumter, South Carolina) ; five grandchildren: Josiah, Zaiden, Azariah, Ezra and Zakai Roberts (Okinawa, Japan) His siblings, Gerome Grant, Briggettie Grant, Frederick Grant (Norwalk, Connecticut) and Darryl Grant (Charlotte,North Carolina); along with a host of family and friends. He is predeceased by his siblings Calvin Grant, Patrice Grant-Coke and Michael Grant. Although Vincent leaves behind a legacy of good deeds ... his family and friends will miss him most for his infectious smile and God-fearing love. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Baker Funeral Services, 84 South Main St, Norwalk, CT. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Grace Baptist Church, 17 West Avenue, Norwalk, CT. Family will receive guest from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Ave, Norwalk, CT.
