Marie Ann Moretti, 83, wife of the late Vincent Moretti of Norwalk, CT passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Norwalk Hospital. Born on February 25, 1938 in New Haven, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Josephine Wrzask and John Ladzinski. Marie attended New Haven Public Schools and was the first in her family to attend college. She received her Bachelor's Degree from New Haven State Teachers College (now Southern Connecticut State University) and her Master's degree from the University of Bridgeport. She was an elementary school teacher in the Norwalk Public School system for 30 years, having taught at Fitch, McGrath and Fox Run schools. For many years she was an active volunteer at the Norwalk Hospital Gift Shop, St. Mary's Church and was a member of the New Horizons Senior Group. Marie will always be remembered for sharing many jars of homemade jam, pickles, hot peppers, limoncello or babka, plants and peach trees with all of her friends and family. She could often be found exercising her two green thumbs in her garden and caring for all of her beloved animals. She is survived by her son Erric and wife Lisa of Trumbull, Connecticut and her granddaughter Emmalise. She is also survived by her brother Paul Ladzinski of East Haven, Connecticut. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 10:00AM in St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk Connecticut. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Avenue, Norwalk, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Connecticut Humane Society, 455 Post Road East, Westport, CT 06880.
