Obituary of Bill Efstathios Savvidis

Please share a memory of Bill to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Vasilios "Billy" Savvidis, 55, of Newington, passed unexpectedly on Thursday, September 16, 2021. Billy always looked back fondly on his youth in Norwalk, barely attending Brien McMahon HS and driving his Trans Am down Route 7 with friends. He later moved to Newington to begin his family and start his business. Billy bought Pastori’s Restaurant in Ellington with his family, where he was an owner for nearly 30 years. He had a way of turning all friends into family, especially those from Pastori’s and Roma’s in New Britain. He will always be remembered for his admirable work ethic, his sense of humor, his golden heart and the love he had for his children and family. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Georgia Savvidis, four loving children: Efstathios, Lambrini, Demetri, and Athanasios, his siblings, Kyriaki and Evangelos Vasiliadis, Andreas and Maria Savvidis, Sophia and George Karambinas, all of Newington, his brother-in-law Stathis Houndris of Enfield and countless nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his twin brother, George, and his parents, Efstathios and Lambrini. Billy's memory will be eternal in the lives he has touched and the laughter and memories he has left us all. Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, Sept 21st from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill, CT. His funeral services will begin at 11 am on Wednesday, Sept 22nd at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave Hartford, CT. He will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk, CT. Due to town Covid-19 guidelines MASKS are required for all indoor portions of the funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill’s memory to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Hartford. Please share online expressions of sympathy, memories, or photo tributes at www.rosehillfuneralhomes.com.
