It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that the family of Carlos Manuel Vado, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Stamford Hospital at the age of 71. He was predeceased by his father Joaquin Vado-Vanegas and his mother Virginia Vado - Aymerich . He is survived by his loving wife, Maria and his two daughters Maria Flynn and husband Robert of Myrtle Beach, SC, Nancy Rupp and her husband Gregory of Stamford, CT, son Charlie Vado and wife Irene of Norwalk, CT. His pride and joy grandchildren Timothy, Danielle & Christian Flynn, Alexandra Taylor and husband Matthew Taylor, Andrew & Nicolas Kydes, Nicole & Gabby Vado, and great-grandchildren Stella & Nicolas Taylor. He is also survived by his sisters Rita Vado-Doyle, Carmen Vado-Olmos, Lorena Vado- Gongora and his brothers Fernando, Joaquin, Mario, Douglas, Jesus and David Vado and his many nieces and nephews. Carlos was a born in San Jose, Costa Rica and moved to New York, NY when he was 22 years old. Carlos was a professional soccer player in Costa Rica. He later moved to Norwalk, CT, where he worked for Howard Johnsons as a truck driver, he then drove limousines for many years. Carlos owned and operated Vado’s Market in South Norwalk, CT for over 15 years. He later retired due to numerous health issues. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 4-6 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, at 12:30PM at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Avenue, Norwalk.
