John Louis Barbaria, of Norwalk, CT born October 22, 1927 entered peacefully into eternal rest at Norwalk Hospital on October 3rd with his children by his side.
He was 92. Predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years, Dora Yaiullo . He was one of four children and was the son of Italian immigrants, Louis Barbaria and Mary Terranova.
John is survived by his son, John Barbaria and his wife Leslie of West Haven, Gina Kensek and her husband Chester of New Milford, Cynthia Schaer and her husband Bernard, of Norwalk, and in addition by eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
After graduating from high school, he was drafted into the United States Army just as WWII was coming to an end, and proudly served in Okinawa. Soon afterwards, he married, began raising his family and was employed by the printing trade. He also ran a successful business, Type Plus Graphics, for many years before his retirement.
Some of his joys in life and proudest moments came from spending time with family and his many childhood friends from NYC; sharing his favorite hobby of making homemade wine, listening to Frank Sinatra, and watching his family thrive and grow.
