Marie Carmelite Cantave, passed away peacefully at her home in Norwalk, on February 23, 2026, with her family by her side.
Born in Petite Riviere de l'Artibonite, Haiti, she was the daughter of Servius and Marie Ursule (Noel) Cantave, and was predeceased by her brothers and sisters.
She worked as a tailor for a time, but her real love was gardening, which she turned to most often.
She enjoyed Pepsi, the Polar Express movie, more gardening, but most of all spending time with her family she loved so much.
Marie is survived by her devoted children; Gerald Paul, Alix C. Paul and Winifred Saget, as well as 12 loving grandchildren: Rachel McCloud, Joshua Paul, Nicole Paul, Antony Paul, Andre Paul, Chantal Paul, Alan Paul, Paracelse J. Magloire, Ashley Paul, Aleigh Paul, Sergio Thermidor, and Witley R.C. Thermidor, 7 cherished great-grandchildren, and the extended Noel, Cantave, Louissaint, Paul, Donatien, Louis, Etienne, Jean-Gilles, Saget, Thermidor, Zephir, Beaubrum Nader, Bernagene, Vita, Pinard, Christopher and Celestin families.
Her Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7 from 9-10 AM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, with a prayer service to begin at 10AM. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to (there are a few options.. AutismSpeaks.org, Catholic Charities, Franklin Academy, etc..)
