Marjorie "Marge" MacFarland Obituary

Marjorie Taylor MacFarland (Marge), a lifelong resident of Norwalk, passed away on November 6, 2025, at Norwalk Hospital at the age of 92. Born in Norwalk, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Alice (Streeton) Taylor.


She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1951 and went on to further her lifelong dream of becoming a Registered Nurse at Mary Hitchcock Hospital in New Hampshire, graduating in 1955.


After receiving her degree, Marge came back home to work at Norwalk Hospital, a pediatrician's office, and then retired as the Director of Nursing at Vitam Center, an adolescent drug and rehabilitation facility in Norwalk, where she had been for 26 years.


After retirement, she volunteered at the Norwalk Senior Center for many years.


She is survived by her Daughter, Susan Hayes, Granddaughter, Jessica Candido, and her Husband, Wallace, as well as Donna Amato, whom she loved like a daughter, and who thought of her as a second mother.


Services will be held privately by her family, with burial at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to: PAWS, Pet Animal Welfare Society, in Norwalk at https://www.pawsct.org/donate.
