Arline Kempf, age 93, of Shelton, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport. She was the devoted wife of 65 years of the late John P. Kempf. Arline was born in Norwalk on May 24, 1930, the daughter of the late Maurice and Edith Hennessey, and lived there until moving to Weston in 1987. Upon retirement, she relocated with her husband to Florida in 1994, where they spent 21 years before moving to Shelton in 2015.

Arline worked as a hairdresser for many years. In her younger years, she enjoyed golf, swimming, and bowling. She also enjoyed sewing, playing cards, and spending time at the beach. She loved her vacations on Block Island and Aruba. Most of all, she was devoted to her family, and she loved nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is the beloved mother of John P. Kempf, Jr., and his fiancée Wendy, Nancy E. Hines, and her husband Michael, and the late Jane M. Kempf. She is the proud grandmother of John P. Kempf, III, Jason R. Kempf, Heather J. Stratford, and her husband James, and Ashley L. Curran and her husband Colin, great-grandmother of Bradley and Cole Stratford and Madison and Jackson Curran, and also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Hennessey.

Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday, September 28, from 5 to 7 PM. On Friday, her funeral service will begin at 11:30 AM in the funeral home, with Deacon Thomas Curran officiating.
