Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patricia Gilmore, age 76, peacefully entered into eternal rest on April 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Patricia, affectionately known as Pat or Trisha, was born in Norwalk, Connecticut on July 17, 1948 to the late Robert and Alvie Massey. She lived her entire life in Norwalk where she was educated, married, employed and raised her family. Patrica was a loving, devoted and caring wife to her husband of 55 years, Frederick L. Gilmore. Starting out as high school sweethearts, Patricia and Fred have spent 59 blessed years reverently committed to each other and lived a beautiful life together.
Patricia was educated in Norwalk Public Schools, graduating from Brien McMahon High School. She retired from the State of Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles as a manager after over three decades of employment. She enjoyed many activities including traveling, bowling, card games and the slot machines at the casinos. Patricia was the glue that held her large family together with an annual Christmas morning breakfast, where her and Fred hosted all family and loved ones to fellowship with love. She was known for her tough exterior, her heart of gold, her listening ear, and her helping and generous hands for everyone who she held dear to her heart.
Patricia leaves behind her husband, Fred Gilmore and two daughters, Karen Kitt (Fred “Junior” Kitt) of Norwalk, Connecticut and Nicole Gilmore of New Haven, Connecticut. She was a doting, warm, active, and supportive mother to her girls. Sowing into Karen and Nicole allowed them to be great mothers to Patricia’s grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored and loved to spend time with. Seven grandchildren - Tevon Gilmore, Xavier Kitt, Cierra Kitt, Joshua Kitt, Addison Samuels, Lola Samuels, CJ Samuels; and two great grandchildren – Gianna Kitt and Nahla Gilmore. Her brothers Alfred Massey and Curtis Massey; and her sisters Barbara Ann Oliver, Linda Wilson, Joyce Boyd, Shavonne Williams, Alfreda Massey and Felicia Massey.
She will be greatly and dearly missed, always loved, appreciated and rooted deeply in our hearts.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her eight brothers, Robert Massey Jr., Thomas Massey, James Massey, Fred Massey, Eugene Massey, Leonard Massey, Richard Massey and Jeffery Massey; as well as her two sisters Marlene Thompson and Mary Massey.
Patricia leaves a legacy of unwavering devotion to her husband, unconditional love for her children and grandchildren, a spirit of joy, giving and a love for life. She will be remembered and missed by everyone who knew her and loved her.
