In Loving Remembrance

Leathia Preston Was Born on March 25, 1938, in Pee Dee Community of Georgetown County, South Carolina. Daughter of Harley Sumpter and Mary Jane Goss Sumpter, Six Sisters Mattie, Annie Mae, Leola, Bulah, Catherine, Reita Mae and Four Brothers, Harley Jr, Ervin, Richard and Rossie All Predeceased Her.

Leathia Received Her Education in Georgetown County School at An Early Age. She Was A Faithful Member of Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church, In Pee Dee Where She Received Christ as Her Personal Savior.

Leathia Was United in Holy Matrimony to Alfred Preston. Her Husband, Son Alfred, Daughter Myrtle and Grandson Rogine Preceded Her in Death.

Throughout The Years Leathia and Alfred Moved to Norwalk CT Where She Was Babysitting Children and a Housekeeper. Then She Became a Teacher for A Day Care for Many Years Working with Children. She Joined Bible Way Temple Church in Norwalk CT and Was a Faithful Member and Joined There Singing Group. She Made Many Friends, A Sweet and Loving Person to All Who Knew Her, She Touch Many Lives………. Young And Old, She Was Always Lending a Helping Hand, she was A Giver and Helped Many People She Would Tell Stories She Enjoyed Cooking and Feeding People, Everyone Came To Her House, She Will Be Greatly Missed.

Early Monday Morning, August 21, 2023, Leathia Answered the Call to Dwell in the house of The Lord She Is at Peace.

She Leaves to Cherish Her Lasting Memories Two Daughters Debra Brimley (Clarence Brimley) and Marcell Preston (Jimmie Johnson) Three Sons Horace Preston, Michael Preston (Lisa Preston) and Dwayne Preston (Selena Roberts)

28 Grandchildren; 40 Great-Grandchildren And 7 Great-Great Grandchildren and A Host of Other Relatives and Friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023. at 10:00 AM. Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ, 2 Trinity Place, Norwalk, CT Family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
