Gloria Papadopoulos Obituary

Gloria Papadopoulos, 85, wife of the late Christos Papadopoulos of Norwalk, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.


Born in Darien on June 22, 1936, she was the daughter of the late James and Cecelia Lanford Tiano.


Gloria was well known for her many years working at Famous Pizza. She later went on to work as a Nursing Assistant for over 20 years and retired from Norwalk Hospital.


In addition to her husband and parents, Gloria was predeceased by her two daughters Athena Papadopoulos and Cecelia Marenyi. She was also predeceased by her sisters Florence Genovese, Cecelia Potts, Dorothy Castellani, and Nancy Mattis, and brothers James, Edward, Russell, and Robert Tiano.


Gloria is survived by her grandson Gabor Marenyi, sisters Marion DeRuvo of Stamford and Helena Tiano of Florida, and by many nieces and nephews.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 26, at 10:00 AM at St. Philip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Avenue, Norwalk.
